Birding Day Tours *
Gauteng offers amazing birding opportunities, especially in the world's largest human-made forest. About 350 species can be spotted on a good day. David is an enthusiastic birder, not an ornithologist, so have reasonable expectations!
Tour 1(North): Rietfontein Nature Reserve, Pretoria surrounds (bushveld, and highveld grasslands, water birds, garden birds)

Apartheid History Tour *
Two-day tours are offered, a single day or both. One tour focuses on
the capital, Pretoria (Tshwane) and deals with a longer period of history, including
how apartheid's architects hid evidence of earlier civilisations to reduce black
people to "hewers of wood and drawers of water".
The second tour focuses specifically on apartheid history since the 1950s, the rise of
the ANC as an underground resistance liberation movement, and the markers of
that period, Sharpeville, the Treason Trial, the Rivonia Trial, 16 June 1976, the two
States of Emergency, the rise of the United Democratic Front, and finally,
the end of apartheid in 1994.

Makhonjwa Geo-Trail (World Heritage Site) *
Touch some of the oldest rocks in the world in the Makhonjwa Mountains,
Gaze at some of the most breathtaking scenery on the border with eSwatini (formerly
Swaziland, the Mountain Kingdom).
This area is the site of the Barberton Greenstone Belt, one of the world's oldest and most
accessible geological sites. It boasts volcanic and other rock formations dating back
3.8-billion years. Not many people visit it, yet.
At each stop, a different geological formation is described. Illustrated panels show how
inland seas, sediments and volcanos created the landscape we see today.
The Geotrail is part of a new tourism route being developed called the Genesis Route.

Mpumalanga Panorama Tour *
The Panorama Tour follows the edge of the Draneksberg escarpment and has incredible views over the Lowveld and down the Blyde River Canyon, the biggest green canyon in the world.
The K2C Biosphere project runs 11 projects across the region linking sustainable development with biodiversity conservation, such as protecting areas, conservation, capacity building in local rural communities, water security, invasive plant clearing etc.
Covering 2.6m hectares, on the western border of the iconic Kruger National Park, this biosphere represents only 1.4% of SA's total land surface, but contains nearly 75% of all terrestrial bird species, 80% of all raptor species, 72% of all mammals, 50% of all butterflies and 50% of all frog species found in SA.
Famous tourism hotspots include God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Pilgrim's Rest,the Three Rondavels, the famous Long Tom Pass,and the Horse Shoe, Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Berlin, Lisbon and Mac Mac waterfalls.
You can also enjoy spectacular views with the Gorge Lift as you descend to the forest below, or take a walk through a rain forest at the top of the escarpment.
